DETROIT, MI, October 11, 2019

The Michigan Mobility Institute is pleased to formally announce that President and Executive Director Jessica Robinson has been named a DBusiness magazine “30 in Their Thirties” 2019 honoree. Since 2011, DBusiness has published this list of local leaders in the Metro Detroit area whose efforts are moving their respective companies, industries, and communities forward.

Robinson is recognized for leveraging her deep national experience in mobility strategy, operations, and business launch to a ground-breaking partnership with Wayne State University. In August, the College of Engineering and the Michigan Mobility Institute announced plans to create a new Center for Advanced Mobility in Detroit. Combined, the Center’s planned programs in autonomous driving, connectivity, and smart infrastructure represent the world’s first holistic, advanced mobility curriculum.

Congratulating Ms. Robinson on her honor, Chris Thomas, Co-Founder and President of the Detroit Mobility Lab shared, “Without Jessica’s steadfast vision and focus, the Center for Advanced Mobility wouldn’t exist. It’s a testament to her efforts that we have created an entity that I believe will be one of the main drivers for the future of mobility in Detroit. There are many components to a vibrant and virtuous mobility ecosystem, and it starts with talent.” The Michigan Mobility Institute is the first initiative of the Detroit Mobility Lab, an organization which she also co-founded.

Ms. Robinson’s profile, along with other members of the DBusiness “30 in Their Thirties” 2019, can be found in the September/October issue, available at Metro Detroit newsstands or online here.

The Michigan Mobility Institute accelerates mobility workforce development, upskilling programs, and post-secondary degrees by bringing industry and education partners together. It merges the historic excellence of engineering, design, and supply chain in Michigan with deep insight into the global hiring needs of next-generation mobility disruptors.
